Nellie is the Senior Counsel at USA Triathlon and one of only three women on the C-Suite team at the federation. Nellie took this new role in 2019, and leads USAT’s strategic and tactical legal initiatives. In addition, she leads the organization’s governance efforts and oversees SafeSport and anti-doping policies, processes and enforcement; risk management; and general business practices. Prior to starting at USA Triathlon, Nellie spent five years practicing commercial litigation at Wildman Harrold Allen & Dixon and Reed Smith in Chicago, Illinois. Nellie worked in the public sector for several years as Associate General Counsel at the Office of the Governor of Illinois and as the General Counsel of the Illinois Lottery.
Nellie started her life as an artist and turned to law after realizing that she loved advocacy and human rights work. Nellie is a dedicated triathlete and completed her first full Ironman in September 2021.
